This improved version:

preserves any existing background color at each link location
hit ANY key while link is highlighted and a new page will open with that URL (currently must enable the pop-up)
(current issue is that it doesn't close current window and, worse, it doesn't stop scanning thread)

simulate mouseovers to provoke DHTML content (eg. see www.unc.edu)
scrolling
Intelligent page viewing (partition web page into logical sections of prioritized, grouped links)
